Traditional keyword research goes like this: pick a seed keyword, expand it into thousands of variations, filter by volume and difficulty, guess which ones you can rank for, build content, wait six months, and hope.
Seotrends does keyword research the opposite way: we start with the sites already winning, show you exactly what they rank for, and let you target the same keywords (and the gaps their competitors leave). Faster, lower-risk, and the keywords are pre-validated by the fact that real (often low-DR) sites already rank for them.
Traditional SEO vs Seotrends SEO
The split is simple. Traditional tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, KWFinder) treat keywords as the starting point and websites as the result of your work. Seotrends inverts that: websites are the starting point, and the keywords come from studying who already won.
Traditional SEO workflow:
- Pick a seed keyword you guess will work
- Generate variations — volume + KD score
- Pick targets based on a 0-100 difficulty number
- Discover months later that the SERP is owned by Forbes
- Restart with a new seed
Seotrends SEO workflow:
- Browse 100K+ sites already ranking with low authority
- Open one in your niche — see every keyword it ranks for
- Copy the high-volume, high-CPC, low-position ones
- Every keyword is pre-validated by a real ranking site
- Ship a content plan in an afternoon
The problem with traditional keyword research
Volume + KD scores tell you what people search and roughly how hard ranking could be. They do not tell you whether the SERP is winnable from your position. A KD=20 keyword can have a SERP dominated by five Forbes pages — unrankable for a new site, no matter how nice the keyword looks on paper. The only real signal comes from looking at who actually ranks today and whether they look beatable.
How Seotrends does it instead
Every domain in our 100K+ database has a full keyword profile. Open a site in your niche, see all their keywords, copy the ones with good volume and reasonable CPC. The validation is built-in: if a low-DR site already ranks for it, a new site with decent content can too.
Filter the keyword list smartly
Within any domain's keyword profile, filter by minimum volume, minimum CPC, position range, country. Find the high-traffic + high-CPC + low-position keywords — those are the workhorses driving the site. Replicate them in your content plan and you have a roadmap that started from real data, not a brainstorm.
High Value Keywords report (Agency plan)
Agency tier unlocks a separate report ranking every keyword in the database by Quality Score (Volume × CPC × Position Multiplier). That is a pre-built "best keywords to chase" list across all niches. Useful when you do not even know which niche to enter yet — the report does the picking for you.
