Moz built the original Domain Authority metric and still owns the brand around link-based SEO scoring. Their Pro tools (DA, Link Explorer, Keyword Explorer, Site Crawl) are excellent for what they do. Seotrends doesn't try to replicate them — instead we use Moz DA as one of our domain metrics and pair it with Ahrefs DR and Majestic TF, giving you the three big authority scores in one row across 100,000+ trending domains. Then we sort by opportunity.
When to use Moz
Domain Authority is still the most cited SEO metric in client conversations. If you do client SEO work and need to communicate authority simply, Moz Pro is the canonical source. Their Link Explorer is also a strong backlink tool.
When Seotrends fits in
When you want to find domains to study, not just analyze ones you already know. Seotrends shows 100K+ trending domains with DA, DR, TF, traffic value, age, growth score — all in one sortable table. Filter for "low DA + high traffic value + young domain" and you have a list of opportunities Moz alone won't surface.
DA + DR + TF — all three matter
Single-metric authority scores can mislead. A site with DA=40 but TF=5 has weak trust despite the DA score. A site with DA=15 but DR=25 might be punching above its DA weight. Seotrends shows all three so you triangulate the actual link profile health, not a single proxy.
Pricing
Moz Pro: $99-$599/mo depending on tier. Seotrends: $49-$249/mo. Different scope, lower price. We're not trying to replace Moz Pro's breadth — we're a niche discovery tool that uses Moz's DA among other signals.
